CKHS Student Enters Teen Pageant

Silverdale resident, Blake O. Clark will compete in the Miss Washington Teen Pageant held November 8-10 in Tacoma, WA. Clark, a sophomore at Central Kitsap High School, holds a 3.95 GPA and has been in the National Honor Society for three consecutive years and participates in the school band.

She is also a member of the Subase Bangor Boys and Girls Club of America. Her hobbies include reading and creative writing. This past summer she participated in the University of Wisconsin’s Madison College Experience Program. Clark aspires to become a child psychologist.

Rather than have a large party for her 16th birthday in January, she opted to compete in the Miss Washington Teen Pageant. According to Clark, the pageant is committed to enhancing the lives of contestants by building self-esteem and awarding prizes for scholarships to contestants. Clark’s self-esteem suffered greatly after her parents divorce said her mother Ray Hill. “If I become a psychologist I know I’ll be able to help other boys and girls from divorced families,” said Clark.

To raise funds for the pageant’s cost, Clark started her own business several months ago selling beauty products. She hasn’t met her goal yet. So, Clark is seeking sponsors in the form of individual donations or as advertisements in the pageant’s book. She can be contacted at 360-779-6800.

Clark is the daughter of Everett D. Clark and Raye Hill of Silverdale. She has one brother, Ian Clark, and one sister, Maya Clark.
